CatalogANSWR

A digital sales advisor that knows every SKU.

B2B catalogs are deep, technical, and easy to get wrong — which is why your buyers depend on sales reps for every product question. CatalogANSWR turns your catalog into a conversation. Buyers describe what they need, get the right products, compare alternatives, and decide faster. Reps get freed up for work that needs them.

What CatalogANSWR does in your catalog.

B2B catalog AI isn't about adding a search bar with a chat icon. It's about replacing the human sales rep as the bottleneck for "which product is right for me?" — for everyone except the high-value conversations that genuinely need a rep.

Natural-language product search

Buyers describe their need — "hydraulic hose for 300 bar at 80°C, 1/2 inch ID, 2 meters" — and CatalogANSWR returns the right SKUs with reasoning. No more guessing keywords or filtering through 200 results.

Compatibility intelligence

"Will this Brand X actuator fit a Brand Y valve?" CatalogANSWR knows the rules — mounting patterns, thread compatibility, electrical specs, regulatory certifications. Buyers get a definitive answer instead of "let me check with sales."

Substitution recommendations

When a product is out of stock or there's a more cost-effective option that meets the same requirement, CatalogANSWR suggests it — with a clear explanation of why. Cart abandonment from stockouts drops dramatically.

Side-by-side comparison

"What's the difference between SKU A and SKU B?" — answered in business terms ("higher pressure rating, serviceable seats, 30% more expensive"), not just spec sheets. The differences that matter, surfaced first.

Application-aware cross-sell

"You'll also need fittings for that hose" or "this compressor maintenance kit is missing the lubricant" — CatalogANSWR completes the order based on what the application actually requires. AOV goes up because nothing gets forgotten.

Smart escalation to sales

High-value, complex, or low-confidence conversations get routed to a sales rep with the full conversation history attached. The rep picks up where the AI left off — no repeat questions for the buyer.

How it works in a real catalog.

A few of the conversations CatalogANSWR handles every day on B2B distribution and manufacturer catalogs.

Buyer
"I need a ball valve for compressed air, 1/2 inch, working at around 8 bar. What do you have?"
CatalogANSWR
Easy spec — most of our standard 1/2 inch brass ball valves cover that. Three options: (1) Standard two-piece, ₹X, fine for fixed installation; (2) Three-piece with serviceable seats, ₹Y, worth it if you'll need to service it; (3) Pneumatic-rated with PTFE seals, ₹Z, if there's any oil contamination concern. For 8 bar compressed air, option 1 is usually plenty. Want to add to a quote or compare further?
Buyer
"This pump I usually order is out of stock. Anything equivalent?"
CatalogANSWR
Yes — Brand A model 320 is in stock and is a direct equivalent (same flow rate, head, port size, mounting). Slightly different controller interface but same protocols. About 5% more expensive. We've had several customers swap between these two without issues. Want to substitute, or wait for the original?
Buyer
"Setting up maintenance kit for a 22 kW screw compressor, brand unknown. What do I need?"
CatalogANSWR
For a typical 22 kW screw compressor, you'll usually want: (1) oil filter, (2) air intake filter, (3) oil-air separator element, (4) compressor-specific lubricant (typically 20L for this size), and (5) desiccant if you have a refrigerated dryer downstream. If you can find the make/model on the compressor nameplate, I can pull OEM-spec parts. Otherwise I can list general-purpose options that will fit most major brands.

Who CatalogANSWR is for.

CatalogANSWR is built for catalogs where the buyer needs more than a list of products — and where sales reps are the current bottleneck.

Industrial & MRO distributors

Fasteners, fluid power, electrical, safety, tools — high SKU counts, technical specs, compatibility rules. Where the catalog is too deep for buyers to navigate alone.

Manufacturers with configured products

Products with multiple options, accessories, and compatible variants. CatalogANSWR helps buyers configure correctly the first time, reducing returns and reorder cycles.

Specialty B2B retailers

Lab supplies, medical devices, professional equipment — where buyers know their goal but not the specific product. CatalogANSWR bridges that gap conversationally.

Wholesale & trade catalogs

Trade-only catalogs where buyers (often contractors, technicians, or buyers under time pressure) need quick, accurate answers. CatalogANSWR handles routine selection so reps can focus on negotiations.

Case study

B2B distributor turns 15,000-SKU confusion into faster buying decisions.

An industrial distributor with deep technical inventory faced a familiar bottleneck: buyers couldn't navigate the catalog without sales help, pre-sales queries dominated the inbox, and average time from inquiry to purchase ran over a week. CatalogANSWR turned the catalog into a conversation.
